Collection Discover and Rediscover by Viviana Sorrentino
The Discover and Rediscover S/S 26 collection is inspired by the labyrinth that resides in churches. A theme that allows us to reflect on the present.
In this particular historical moment, humanity, faced with the tragedies of war depriving it of certainties, finds itself in an irrational and chaotic dimension that also undermines the
inner reality of each person. Anxiety about living, feelings of panic, which lead to focusing only on their “shadow dimension”, remaining trapped and helpless. Therefore a total loss of the
“center”.
There is this need to return to one’s original self, to one’s roots, in an incisive way. The labyrinth fully embodies this concept, a complicated journey through which, among the various
paths, one reaches knowledge: “In the labyrinth one does not get lost, in the labyrinth one finds oneself” (Hermann Kern). Escaping the labyrinth means being reborn, and he who manages to overcome the obstacles
inevitably changes.
A collection inspired by spiritual themes, drawing on motifs and symbols preserved in early Christian and medieval churches.
The peculiarity of the collection lies in the prints.
Philip Jackson’s sculptures have allowed for a deeper study of the shapes of the outfits.
